momentum   What is Momentum Student Ministry?

Momentum can be considered the “power” when an object is moving; meaning how much force it can have on another object. Momentum is the student ministry here at Excel Baptist. Our goal is to encourage students in their walk with Christ and to be all that Christ has called them to be. We want to be the force that God uses to change our community, county and country.

“Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ

Jesus has made me his own.” Philippians 3:12

 Catalyst-Sundays 5:30 p.m.

A “catalyst” is typically understood as being something that brings about change without being consumed in the process —usually profound—through a chemical reaction. We apply the word catalyst to describe our approach in sharing the gospel (good news about Jesus) with the people around us.

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden… In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5: 14, 16

We believe that God wants to use us as catalysts to share His good news with those who haven’t heard. We hope our actions will create opportunities for spiritual conversations that lead people to a life changing encounter with Jesus Christ.

Come and experience this unique time for students to meet and be fed with the Word before going out and engaging their world in the week to follow.

Recharge- Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

Many of us approach our relationship with God like we do our phones: we know it’s time to recharge but we’ll let
the battery almost die out, trying to get out the last email, tweet, text, or call. There’s a better way, a more consistent way.
Staying plugged in to God keeps our batteries from running down.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Psalm 51:12

Jesus has infinitely more power than we do! (We know this, but based on  the way we act sometimes, we seem to forget!) And while this looks different for everyone, it has to involve some vital and universal elements: Prayer, Scripture Study, and Worship. Take this opportunity today to do   what it takes to stay plugged in to a power source. THE Power Source!

Join us for Recharge on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. This is a time for students to gather together and “recharge” themselves in the Word.  Our hour is filled with live worship music and a challenging and engaging message from the Word.

 Mission Trip

As Christ followers we are called to know Jesus and make Him known to the nations. A vital part  of our student ministry is equipping students to be vocal with their faith and to make disciples    of all nations. Each summer, our students are involved with International Children’s Camp and minister to approximately 80 children during a weekend camp designed just for them, from teaching Bible studies, to leading recreation, and much more.
